Bosu

One of the best weight loss workouts involves using the Bosu ball. The Bosu ball is the circular blue dome that is inflated which you see in the gym. It has an inflated blue dome on top while the bottom is flat. Weight loss equipment does not get any better than this one.

Bosu ball exercises can workout the whole body. You can utilize the Bosu ball for lower, mid and upper body workouts. You can begin your leg workouts with squats. Place the Bosu ball with the dome up or down depending on how difficult you want to make the exercise. The basic exercise is to stand on the top of the Bosu and perform squats. Balance and strength will be required to get through the workout. If you want to add to the difficulty you can hold hand weights. For a more advanced set of exercises, flip the Bosu ball over so the flat side can be stood on. Strength and balance are each key to the exercise. Another variation of the squat is to hold the Bosu ball over your head and perform squats while standing on the floor.

The lunge is another leg workout. Take one step back from the Bosu with the dome side up. Perform the lunge by starting with either leg and lunge onto the top of the Bosu. As you do the exercise, change legs. You can also hold weights while you perform the exercise.

Mid-section exercises work the abdominal muscles. You can sit on the dome of the Bosu, with your feet on the floor, and do a simple sit up. You could also lift your feet and perform crunches by pulling your legs into your chest then pushing them back out. Numerous ab exercises can be performed on the Bosu such as the bicycle crunch exercises. The Bosu ball ensures that your abs are tightened through each exercise as you will work to keep your balance.

Pushups, among other upper body workouts, can be perfomed with the Bosu. Perform the standard pushup by keeping your feet on the floor and placing your hands on the Bosu. You can also place your hands on the floor and put your feet up on the Bosu dome to do pushups. Flip the Bosu over so the dome is on the floor and grab the outer edges of the flat side to perform more advanced pushups. You can workout your shoulders by simply pushing the Bosu up over head. Weight loss exercises do not get much better than this.

It is obvious that the Bosu is one of the most versatile workout pieces of equipment available. The Bosu is one of the best things to use for weight loss workouts. You will find that you will gain strength and lose weight using it.

Health and Fitness Products

Tagged Under : , , , , , , ,

When such a high percentage of the people are overweight it seems fitting that there is significant number of the population who are extremely image conscious. Perhaps this is in part to those health magazine covers with men and women who have desirable, health and fit looking bodies. This of course has had a knock on effect with more fitness clubs and health spas being built.

Even though the average weight of the population in the Western world continues to rise, this seems to have fueled the interest in health and fitness products. But exercise is not the only way to build that body beautiful because it also entails a certain responsibility about the foods we choose to eat as being healthy and fit requires one to follow a regular diet fitness regime.

Those followers of eating foods with high carbohydrate content believe these are best owing to the amount of energy that can be stored in the muscles ready for instant release. What doesn’t help the average person is what diet-fitness regime to follow as both seem to make sense; there is the one that says eat foods with high carbohydrate levels and the other which says you need to eat foods with a high fat content which appears to contradict everything we are told about dieting.

The first thing you need to know would be the fundamental differences between these two diet approaches because as the name implies, high-carb diets concentrates on taking in carbohydrate-rich foods while high fat diets endorses fat-rich foods. The high-carb enthusiasts say that we need these sorts of foods because the glucose (or energy) is stored in the muscles and liver in the form of glycogen which is great for short burst of energy or any type of anaerobic exercise.

The other camp believe that because fat is a higher source of calories an it metabolizes in a fraction of the time it takes carbohydrates, then these are the foodstuffs we should consume before exercise. So according to the experts, it doesn’t matter which you choose, as long as you don’t follow both at the same time, unless weight gain is what you want.

The purpose of diet fitness is to change your diet and lose excess body weight in the form of fat, by regular physical activity. To achieve this, research has shown that you need to think about how you are currently living your life which includes the type of food you like to eat and if there are any medical considerations.

The problem with most diets is that people can’t wait to come off them but if one can be tailored made for you then there is a greater chance you will stay on it and eat in moderation and a variety of food groups. Although it still means that that essential nutrients and proteins for example that keep the body and mind healthy should be part of that diet; amounts of which are broadly publicized by health organizations.

The important message here is experiment until you find the diet fitness method that suits you and then staying fit and healthy will be much easier and probably enjoyable.
