Deciding On a Parrot Cage

Tagged Under : ,

If you live alone its not possible be out and about with others all of the time. There will always by times though when you are at home alone and bored. A parrot then as a pet is a good thing for you to consider so that you have at least a companion rather than being at home alone. It should be noted though that having a parrot is a huge commitment. Hence, you have to do your very best in taking care of your parrot. As a matter of fact, taking good care of a parrot starts with choosing the best parrot cage.

There are many parrot cages on the market today for you to choose from. Nevertheless, not all of those cages were effectively constructed. Some of those are just aesthetically built to catch the attention of many buyers and to gain more profits. There are several things that are essential and always present in a quality parrot cage. Here are some of the most essential things which you should always consider:

•    Parrot Cage Size: It is better to choose a cage which is large in size. They need lots of room to flap their wings and move around in their cage. Aside from that, a large parrot cage would also mean large space which birds do certainly need since they are used to with a wide and open space.

•    Cage’s Bars: The next thing to look for and consider is the actual bars on the cage. You should choose parrot cages which have well-distanced bars in order to be certain that your parrot will be safe and will not be hurt in any way.

•    Cage’s Pull-Out Trays: You should always make sure that the parrot cage which you are going to purchase has a pull out tray located at the bottom in order to make it simper as well as easier for you to clean the cage. All the best quality cages have these so any that don’t should be avoided at all costs.

•    Cage’s Quality: Quality should beat cost worries every time if your parrot is to remain safe and healthy. Cheap cages are false economy because your parrot cost you a lot of money so why risk his health and safety with a cheap cage. Look for cages with a quality finish and that are made from stainless steel or finished in powder coated lead free paint.

Picking the right cage is not as simple as it first appears. This is because of all the things you have to consider when shopping for your cage such as the things we’ve looked at above plus other things such as the shape of your room and its size. After all, you certainly do not want to lose your parrot because it is the only companion and friend you have especially in times when you seem to be all alone.

Train Your Dog to Be Happy

Educating yourself about dog training should be the first step you take prior to actually training your dog. Certainly there are plenty of sources you can go to, but sometimes it becomes information overload.

Canine training is not really all that difficult. An important thing to remember is that most dogs just want to please their masters. The problem is communication. Obviously there is a language barrier, and owners need to get your dog to understand what you want.

Dog training can be summed up with just a few tips. Lets take a look at some of the methods that I have used in order to train my dog, making both he and I happier.

Try to avoid the negatives that often come with training. Hitting or striking your dog, either by hand or with an object will only teach the dog to fear you. A stern verbal NO, is OK, but don’t go any further than that, or you risk alienating your dog. Focusing on praise and rewards when your dog acts as he should is the better way to go.

Praising your dog reinforces correct behaviors. Loving or petting your dog for acting positive behaviors is of course nice, but experience has shown better results happen when food treats are distributed at the time the behaviors observed. When you really think about it, food motivates humans, so to it works with our four legged companions.

Body language can also influence your pet’s reactions. Many canines can actually can actually sense and read your body language before any verbal communication is given. A method that works well in doing this is to match an audible command with a particular movement of either the hand, arm, or even leg.

Never giving up is the final key to successful dog training. Sure at times it is frustrating. It would certainly be easier to give up, go sit on the couch and watch your DirecTV, but you need to be consistent in your training. Nobodys dog is going to train himself, and training always takes longer than you would like. It is so important to keep this in mind when things are difficult with your dog. Things will not always fall into place, so do not give up at the first sign of trouble.

Training your dog can be both a difficult and rewarding experience. Keeping these brief tips in mind will help you keep on track in your natural dog training efforts.
